Mode Network launched its incentivized airdrop campaign on January 31st, which made it last 4 months. Users had to collect points by:
- Already have transactions in their Metamasks.
- Bridge funds in the MODE network.
- Use protocols in the MODE network.
- Turn ETH into LST ETH (STONE, EETH, …).
The Mode network team have assigned 10.5% of the $MODE tokens for airdrops, whose 5,5% were allocated for this Airdrop round.
There were some rules to the airdrop:
- The minimum points needed to qualify is 250 points
- Any user that had pre-check points but did not bridge to Mode did no meet the minimum requirements
- The top 2,000 wallets by points received 50% MODE at launch and 50% MODE after 90 days.
The token price at launch was $0.2, stayed at $0.1 for 15 minutes and quickly dropped below 5ct. The top 10,000 received a minimum of 4200 $MODE. The range of the airdrop is 70 $MODE to 35m $MODE for the first address. Second address received 20m $MODE, and top 100 received a minimum of 535k $MODE.
Pros & Cons
Experienced Team
The founders have a history of successful airdrops from previous ventures.
Clear Airdrop
There's a definite plan for an airdrop, with transparent rules for distribution.
Fewer Bots
A check for past activity on various chains will limit bots, ensuring a larger airdrop allocation for wallets with a solid history.
Small Competition
Dune Analytics shows only 100k addresses bridged funds to Mode, a small number compared to others in this category.
Unknown Funding
Only a $5 million grant known, making it seem less attractive than better-funded projects.
Funds Lockup
Requires locking at least a considerable sum of $600 in Mode network for an uncertain period of time.
How to participate?
Every type of opportunity has its common rules. Following these closely can significantly increase your chances of qualifying for the potential rewards. Here is a list of recommendations from our team designed to maximize your chances of benefiting from these opportunities:
-
Earn Points for Future Tokens or Airdrop Share: The main goal is to earn points that might later turn into tokens or determine your share of an airdrop.
-
Recieve Points Based on Past Activity: You can get points for past activities in 150 protocols and projects across six categories. Preferably connect your old wallet to see and claim your points. The categories include:
- DeFi: Using decentralized finance apps.
- NFT: Owning digital art or collectibles.
- Scaling: Using Layer 2 platforms for faster transactions.
- OG: Using original DeFi apps like Maker, Curve, Yearn.
- Degen: Using apps for leverage trading.
- Yield: Using apps that give you returns on your crypto.
-
Bridge Assets to Mode: Transfer ETH, USDT, and USDC to Mode. You earn points based on how long they stay on Mode. Points are given out every hour based on the total value locked (TVL).
-
Invite Friends to Mode: When your friends join Mode using your invite, you earn 16% of their points. For example, if a friend earns 100,000 points, you get 16,000. You can invite many friends.
-
Use Ecosystem Apps: Deposit assets into launch partner apps on Mode to get more points. You also earn points for transactions on Mode. Remember, using these apps has risks.
-
Complete Quests: Earn extra points by completing quests. Check the Quests tab for the latest quests and earn points when you finish them.
